First House History Logs Launched

1911Census-4LonsdaleWe are making slow but exciting progress with our social history project - the 'Bedford Park House Histories'.  We have successfully accessed Census records from 1939, 1911 and 1901 for all our participants, giving them an insight into who lived in their homes  since they were built. We have also brought together the information from the local history society and library and a group of local historians to add to the information our participants can acess.

The most exciting development is that we have now rolled out our first 20 test House Logs to participants in the project.  Click 'Read More' to see the picture below which shows one of the logs set up for the owner of a house in Woodstock Road. Click below to see an example of one of the online history logs that our project participants will be getting.

You will see that it contains background information on Bedford Park, on the road names and a set of Census entries for a property. Project participants can then add details from their deeds or any other documents they have detailing occupants of their homes.   If you would like to join in the project and get one of the online logs please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Crime Prevention and Neighbourhood Watch Meeting

Thursday 17 March, 6.30pm for 7.00pm

Gabriel Room, St Michael & All Angels

3903145In response to your concerns about crime and security highlighted in a BPRA Members’ Survey last year, an event has been arranged so you can meet the local Metropolitan Police team and Neighbourhood Watch representatives. The police of the Safer Neighbourhood teams from both Ealing and Hounslow will be at the meeting to discuss crime in our locality and measures you can take to protect yourself and your property.

The Metropolitan Police will be using the event to demonstrate their 'SmartWater' initiative, aimed at marking valuable posessions with a forensic traceable liquid to deter burglars.  If you would like to know more about this initiative please see the Met Police webpage about it here.  The Police have informed us that kits will be available at the meeting.

If you wish to know more about the Neighbourhood Watch Schemes in the area, please see the BPRA page here or the Met Police Neighbourhood Watch web page here.

Drinks will be available from 6.30pm – do come along and bring your neighbours!
